Amanda Tye is an Australian landscape painter and her studio is located on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Art Education at the College of Fine Arts UNSW and has worked as a Secondary School Visual Arts Teacher for more than ten years. Amanda has been a finalist in the Mosman Art Prize, won the Warringah Art Prize Peoples Choice award twice, exhibited in many group and solo shows, and her work is held in collections across Australia. Tye works in oils and acrylics and her signature style is bright and switches between flat geometric plans and a spatial landscape.
“My current practice is a form of escapism; revisiting memories, places and experiences. A combination of calculated planning, and intuitive mark making. My compositions are derived from the landscape, and my desire to create a plane to escape through” Amanda Tye
