Our original, one-off OMBU cowhide rugs are hand made in Argentina to your exact specifications in less than eight weeks. One simple whole cow hide or stitched together patterns, stunning colours and designs to choose from or create your own masterpiece. Options include beautiful thick leather stitching, patchwork, mosaic style, herringbone, modern or traditional designs, borders, natural hide or bare leather. Using quality hides which are ethically sourced as a by product from the huge beef industry Argentina is well known for, the rugs can be beautifully made as small as a doormat or as big as your whole room and will suit any interior style. Circular, square, rectangular, a hall runner or even egg shaped, the hides are incredibly hard wearing, naturally stain resistant (ever seen a permanently dirty cow?) They’re easy peasy to clean and will last a lifetime. Depending on which floor surface they’re topping, the rugs can be backed with felt or cotton or left natural suede with weighted corners to prevent curling. Imagine it with matching cushions, as a stunning wall hanging or a unique bed head. Our favourite is the metallic range which is antique gold or silver embossed hides lending a glowing modern touch to the traditional.
