Belinda Jeanes

Belinda is a Perth based artist working in acrylics on board and canvas. A desire to find beauty in the minutiae of everyday life is at the core of her still life paintings. A country childhood and a career as an environmental scientist resulted in a passion for the botanical world. The latter is reflected in her portrayal of Australian flora alongside objects of sentimentality, often clashing against bold patterns. A sense of melancholy or whimsy is sometimes evident in her paintings with the overarching theme of time passing often revisited.
