Cassandra Ng is a contemporary Sydney based artist. Her current body of work explores the idea of Synaesthesia, where some people who hear music see colour. This type of Synaesthesia is called Chromesthesia. Being inspired by geometric abstraction, Cassandra creates paintings in morse code that tap out the lyrics to songs and combines them with playfully mixed palettes to make works that have meaning and movement.
Born and based in Sydney, Cassandra attended COFA UNSW (College of Fine Arts, now UNSW Art + Design) and completed a Masters of Fine Arts, following on from a Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery from Monash University. She now runs her art and medical careers side-by-side to strike an inspired balance.
