‘I’m fascinated by the ‘middle-line’ state between pure abstraction and realistic representation in landscape. I love that transitonal flux where some elements can be readily identified, but others are ambiguous. In my recent works I’ve employed a literal dividing line within my landscapes that immediately push the subject from being perceived as representational, towards the purely abstracted. The divisional line also serves a purpose – each half of the painting can be considered separately; or when viewed holistically, denoting the same landscape interlinked through passing time – with altered dailylight, or changed conditions. The unrealistic delineation gives licence to exaggerated and unnatural colour pairings, where different elements become increasingly open to varied interpretation by the observer.’

sydney art galleryMy work is mainly associated with boldly coloured landscapes (and some figurative works) which investigate the edges between representation and
abstraction – the blurred cross-over between recognisable place, and abstracted memory of a familiar scene.
More recently I have also been producing strongly coloured landscapes based around bush themes – something I started doing 20 years ago, but
put aside, always hoping to explore further at a later date – which I’m now starting to do.
I’m concerned with the excitement generated by the (both planned and accidental) interaction of colours, contrasts and brushstrokes, as much as
with subject matter.

Simply send us a front on photo (jpeg or PDF) of your wall space then tell us which artwork you’re considering and the size. We will then super impose the artwork onto your wall, allowing you to be totally sure that the artwork you’ve chosen is just right for your space.
WHEN PURCHASING ONLINE WILL THE PROPORTIONS OF AN ARTWORK CHANGE?
YES: When buying from the Collections Artworks the proportions will change with the dimensions. If you would like to see how they change prior to purchasing please contact us.

HOW MUCH IS FREIGHT?
Martine Gallery includes packaging and delivery cost in all online orders within Australia. For larger custom orders, we may suggest other freight alternatives and costings. This is worked out on a project-by-project basis. Price quoted includes GST.
DOES MARTINE GALLERY COLOUR MATCH?
YES – If you have a colour or fabric swatch you’d like to send us, we’ll do our very best to match it as close as possible.
COLOUR ACCURACY...
All computer monitors vary in colour therefore the printed artwork may vary slightly from what you have viewed on your monitor. We do not guarantee the reproduction of colours. If you’re concerned about colours, please order a small sample swatch printed on the actual canvas for a minimum cost. Please contact us for more information on ordering swatches.
WHAT IS DELIVERY TIME FOR ONLINE PURCHASES?
Turnaround time is 10-12 business days after payment has been made, (depending on where the delivery is to be made). Faster turnaround can be organised. Please contact info@martinegallery.com for a 3-5 business days turn around from the Collections Artworks.
WHERE DOES MARTINE GALLERY DELIVER TO?
We ship all over Australia. For delivery to other countries, please contact us and we will quote you on shipping and delivery time.
WHAT IS MARTINE GALLERY RETURN POLICY?
In the case of purchase of a physical product from this website which satisfies one or more of the following cases we will gladly arrange a refund or exchange the product:
The product proves faulty within 7 days of receiving the product and/or date of invoice
The product does not match its description as provided when sold
The product received is not the product ordered
The product has been damaged in transit
Please contact us immediately if any of the above occurs to arrange a return. Products returned without prior notice will be rejected.
Please ensure that returned products are safely packed in their original packaging. We will not be held liable for damage to products incurred during return shipping.
