Description

My name is Robert Chung-Gon and I am an “Abc” (Australian born Chinese). After leaving school in the 70’s I went to Art school and majored in photography.

I travelled and worked overseas for 5 years. On returning to Australia I studied horticulture and worked at Parliament House as Head Gardener for four years. After that I worked for myself creating and maintaining gardens until I retired four years ago. Since retirement, I took up painting in acrylics and have not stopped since. I find that acrylics suit me because I tend to work fast and like to see the finished work in a frame. Acrylic paints dry quickly and if you make a mistake you can paint over it as well and build up colour intensity.

I joined the Kuring-Gai Art Society three years ago, and have exhibited and sold work at the Royal Easter show. I also belong to the St Johns Art Group at Wahroonga. It has given me inspiration and encouragement to produce more art work of which I am most grateful.
